Dancing Buddhas is a fusion of classic electronica, psychedelic vibes and groovy basslines. This album was born from the inspiration of getting a load of new gear in 2006/7! I got a new computer built for me, Cubase 3, and installed Spectrasonics Stylus, a virtual drum machine and bang! It changed everything. Oh! and new monitors. This is an instrumental album with each track produced to a consistently high quality. Produced in 2007 and placed on a free download site, it has received great reviews and hundreds of downloads. Kavi Jezzie Hockaday is a musician, producer and peace campaigner. He writes music that takes you on a journey inside yourself. If you journey inside yourself, eventually you will come to your core … and that core is Peace. When you share that Peace with the world, the world changes around you. The title of this album, Dancing Buddhas simply means that which we are. We are all Buddhas inside ourselves. We are all dancing through life. Life is the ultimate dance. You can choose to recognize it or not, but still you are dancing! He has been a musician for 35 years! Mainly a guitar player, singer and songwriter, he played in and around the London scene for most of those years. At some point he had a personal transformation and the style of music completely changed. He began playing improvised music for ‘Trance Dance’ workshops. He got into computers! He and the teacher fell headlong into a love relationship. The music kept changing. They tried to create a meditation album. It became a classic album called ‘Unconditional Love’ and was signed to New Earth Records in 2007, and is still available. The album is a tantric journey into sound and the vibration of Love. It has been likened to Pink Floyd of the 1970’s ‘Atom Heart Mother’ era, and the Pink Floyd sound is indeed one of Kavi's main influences. His music is very influenced by the qualities of Love and Lightness. It is music that transports you, carries you on a cloud and treats you gently. The guitars skim gently over the surface of the ambient beats. There is nothing heavy here, no undercurrents. It is very transparent, and refreshing because of that. Check it out.
